The appointment system is a problem to me on a visit or on the phone it is usual to be told to ask again later. My daughter has to sort appointments out for me and be able to bring me. We have great difficulty in getting a date ahead to plan getting me along there as I need her help. She likes the compyter appointment system (something I cannot use) but this is not always working. She once came up five times before she managed to secure a booking. This adds unnecessary stress when one needs to see a doctor.
I find the front desk staff always most helpful and also when I phone in I find their response to my needs is always helpful.
Friendly and helpful.
I'm 81 and find phoning up 8:30am to get an appointment hard to take, can never get through. When I do and can't get an appointment and ask for one in advance, to be told I can't do that for some reason. I was lucky once. I don't visit my doctor that often only when I have to. It s also difficult as I havebalance problems and have to use a bus and walking stick. THe doctors are good, but its getting to see the one you want that is sometimes the problem. I cannot always hear the doctor calling names with children shouting and running about. The best one is Dr Sillick, sometimes Dr Tilly. Why don't you install an electronic board like Weybridge Health Centre where your name comes up. No problem there and everyone can see it. 5 minutes is not long with your doctor to deal with problems.
Thank you for your feedback. We regularly check our responses on IWGC and discuss issues raised in our practice meeting. If you would like to get more involved with shaping the services we offer at the practice, we have a Patient Participation Group and would welcome your further input.
The receptionist that dealt with me was friendly, polite and helpful. Dr Lingachetti listened very carefully to the description of the symptoms I was experiencing. She took my blood pressure and monitored by heart rate. Both were normal. She arranged for me to have an ECG and a blood test and made an appointment for me to return for the results of the test. I returned for the results of the tests, the ECG was normal and thyroid. But my cholesterol level was up. She asked me if I was still experiencing the shortness of breath and the palpitations I had described before and I told her that I was and that I thought I may be suffering from anxiety. The doctor wanted me to make another appointment for 2 weeks time so that she could monitor my condition. My opinion is that the care I received was excellent.
